You will hear all about the plans of the school district to implement the SAVE (Students Against Violence Everywhere) program, plans for establishing nonviolence education as part of the curriculum, beginning in the 5th grade, and plans to include sex abuse awareness training. No, this is not a dream - it's the real deal!
The meeting is in the tall white building on the right as you enter the Baskerville campus off of Highway 17 in Pawleys Island. Please use the side entrance closest to Highway 17 since the toddlers will be using the first floor.
We are invited to attend the meeting and then decide how we can help, so don't hesitate to bring a friend who is interested in teaching peace to our children. If you have not attended earlier meetings, don't be bashful - just remember to bow or curtsy when you come in. ;)
If we talk long enough, we might all go to lunch at the House of Pancakes in Litchfield, just to celebrate.
E'Lane Rutherford has been spearheading the SAVE effort; through one of her grants, she has provided start-up manuals for all 14 schools and YMCA sites in our district. Just to sit with this remarkable community leader is a thrill in itself!
