Thanks to our partners at the William King Regional Art Center, the Knight Out will be at WKRAC's Life-Size Fairies to Go workshop on Tuesday evening, August 7th (the second Tuesday of the VA Highlands Festival - already a celebration of community and beauty of so many kinds!) from 6:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. to celebrate the National (K)Night Out.

Here is the complete line-up of VA Highlands Festival events at the William King Regional Art Center:

  • Saturday, July 28, 10:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. - Two-Day Workshop: Fantasy Illustration with Watercolor ($50, ages 16 and up). There's a limit of 12 participants, so call 276-628-5005 to reserve your place.
  • Sunday, July 29, 1:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. - Second Session of Fantasy Illustration Workshop (see above).
  • Sunday, July 29, 2:00p.m. to 3:00p.m. - Gallery Tour.
  • Tuesday, July 31, 2:00p.m. to 3:00p.m. - Gallery Tour.
  • Tuesday, July 31, 6:30p.m. to 8:30p.m. - Workshop: Life-Size Fairies to Go ($30/$15, all ages). There's a limit of 12 participants, so call 276-628-5005 to reserve your place.
  • Wednesday, August 1, 2:00p.m. to 3:30p.m. - Family Art Activities in the Cool: Painted String Prints.
  • Thursday, August 2, 8:00p.m. - Pre-screening of Stardust Rising, a film for which the illustrations of Charles Vess provided the visual inspiration and themes. (Invitation only while they last.)
  • Friday, August 3, 2:00p.m. to 3:30p.m. - Family Art Activities in the Cool: Steam Engine Paintings.
  • Saturday, August 4, 2:00p.m. to 3:30p.m. - Tour and Lecture: "Stardust" Artist Charles Vess.
  • Tuesday, August 7, 6:30p.m. to 8:30p.m. - Workshop: Life-Size Fairies to Go with the Knight Out ($30/$15, all ages). There's a limit of 12 participants, so call 276-628-5005 to reserve your place.
